Brick By Brick was established in 2016 to deliver high quality and affordable housing for the people of Croydon, returning any proceeds from development activity to our shareholder, Croydon Council.

Working with some of the best architects in the UK, we have now (by Autumn 2021) completed construction of 460 homes across 18 sites previously owned by the council. Of the completed homes, 56% are affordable of which more than half are to be council homes. As of September 2021, we have 311 homes under active construction, across 5 different sites. Two of these are our larger schemes, Kindred House in central Croydon, and Red Clover Gardens (Lion Green Road) in Coulsdon.
Wind-down plans
In July 2021, and in the context of significant wider financial challenges, Brick By Brick’s shareholder Croydon Council opted to wind the company down once the sites currently under construction are completed. This is anticipated to be in summer 2023.
Brick By Brick will continue to operate until then, and a reduced team will oversee the completion and sale of all of our active schemes, to the same high standards we have always achieved, before closing the business. For more information see our FAQs.
